SKAGWAY

SKAGWAY, 23rd June. Well, what can we say? Another revolting tourist town. Lucky we only passed through it on our way to the Yukon. Back to Canada, Eh!

Stunning country with great lakes and savage mountains. We were glad we were not gold miners living here during the rush. We visited the world’s smallest desert. A desert with conifers growing in it!

Crossing the border was funny.  Into Canada.”Hello, welcome. How is your day going?  Have fun”.

Coming back into the US…”stop smiling, stand up straight. While visiting the frontier town of Carcross, Nathan’s wallet was stolen from the bus – and while the driver was the only one there! Not good. She was not happy when we insisted on going to the police.  “No” she said, “ring them tonight”.   That night Sarah had a party for 20…., in our cabin. Raina went to an Ice Sculpting demo. And we saw Orcas breaching. How good is cruising?
