17th Nov – Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Nha Trang is a seaside ‘village’ with a population of 350,000. It is quiet stunning looking and famous for its diving and coastal activities.
With Brad and Kathy from the CL, we negotiated a taxi – $150US for 4 hours and headed off. First stop was to drop them at an embroidery factory. They bought a piece there 10 years ago and hadn’t got it framed. Would have cost round $700 at home.
They got it done here for $10 – but they did buy another piece for $700. At least it was framed.
We headed off to Po Nagar, a Cham temple tower founded sometime before 781. STUNNING. No glitz and gold! Just amazing architecture and brick work. My kind of temple.|
Back to collect the others……..”Come to the Embroidery Factory” they said.
“It will be fun”, they said.
“Don’t be silly”, I said.
Then I walked in and my jaw dropped. It was amazing.
We then headed off in the taxi for some sightseeing.
The Fishing Village.
And other sites.
Long Sơn Pagoda (The White Buddha) and The Sleeping Buddha – built in 1886. Not a nice amount of steps. And not nice steps – very steep. But I did it.
An amazing lunch!
And this as the day I became a millionaire.
I withdrew a million from the ATM. How cool am I.
Beach Resort.Fantastic place!
Next Tab Hue.
