Pappette, 2nd Oct
Feeling better after a night a at a lovely hotel. Followed by a 3 hour paper chase for a certificate saying ‘Fit to Travel’.

It took about 3 hours of rushing around to get to the surgeon who said the brain was all clear, no involvement at all!
SENSATIONAL.Sure enough – there was a skull fracture. Small but there. But no underlying damage so all good to sail. We got a certificate saying “fit to travel” but were unable to get a copy of the scan as “the printer is broken”.

Back to the dock to collect Andy who was meeting us at a set time…..about 90 minutes before we got there, but no way of contacting him. Poor guy just had to sit and wait.
We then did a short bit of touring around Papetee.

Blow hole. Last year this ran under the road, but there has been a rock fall. Now it has a new hole. Still impressive.
Who knew that there was salt water mud skipper type things up here. Well Andy did ’cause they had them in New Guinea when he lived there.

We totally understood the Dr point. He wanted to know EXACTLY what and where as we do have a 5 day trip!
The ship staff were brilliant! All so helpful. So grateful to them all.
Just to rub salt into Sarah’s wound (as they say, cause to actually do it would be far to painful) because she has missed her SCUBA diving, some of the officers were diving at the gangway. Officers do an examination of the hull of the ship before every crossing leg. Welcome back from Captain Wendy and John, Head of Security. John said “I hear you have fans!”
It was great that the ships wifi reached to the outside of the ship. Helped pass the 2 hours.
And to the people who don’t do travel insurance. My rough estimate is around $25 00 so far – and we have to go to the Dr every day for wound checks!
There was a Polynesian show that night that was good. Quite different to Hawaiian dancing.
Followed by another ridiculously funny night with…
FUN! (not so much for poor Sarah though. She had a few very off days.)
